The Lamborghini 4000 GT Flying Star II was a one-off shooting brake concept unveiled in 1966 at the Turin Motor Show. It was built on a 400 GT chassis and designed by Carrozzeria Touring, who gave it a distinctive two-door estate profile with a long roofline and a large rear hatch. Under the hood was Lamborghini’s 4.0-liter V12, but the real focus of the car was its bold attempt to combine grand touring performance with added practicality.
Despite its elegant proportions and the novelty of a V12 Lamborghini shooting brake in the 1960s, the Flying Star II remained a unique prototype and never entered production. Today it stands as one of the most unusual and unexpected designs from Lamborghini’s early years.
