The Lamborghini Urraco P250 was introduced in 1970 as a smaller, more accessible alternative to the Miura, marking Lamborghini’s entry into the V8 segment. Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, it featured sharp, clean lines with a distinctive low wedge profile and a compact 2+2 layout.
Powered by a 2.5-liter V8 producing around 220 horsepower, the P250 was positioned as a balanced and usable sports car rather than an all-out supercar. Despite its more modest performance, it retained the high-revving character typical of Lamborghini engines. Early production was slow and somewhat troubled, but the Urraco laid the foundation for later V8 models like the Silhouette and Jalpa, making it an important step in the brand’s evolution.
