1972 Lamborghini Espada 400 GTS (Series III)

The Lamborghini Espada Series 3 was introduced in 1972 as the final and most developed version of the Espada. Visually similar to the earlier cars, it featured subtle refinements such as a revised grille design and updated wheels, but the biggest changes were inside. The interior was significantly redesigned with a more conventional dashboard layout, improved ergonomics, and better overall comfort.

It retained the 3.9-liter V12, now producing around 350 horsepower in its later form, paired with either a five-speed manual or an optional automatic transmission. Production of the Series 3 continued until 1978, and with roughly 456 examples built, it became the most numerous version of the Espada, closing the chapter on Lamborghini’s original V12 four-seat grand tourer of the 1960s and 70s.
