The Lamborghini Jarama Rally was a unique experimental version developed in the early 1970s by Lamborghini test driver and development engineer Bob Wallace. Built on a Jarama S, it was never a factory production model but rather a personal performance project aimed at exploring the car’s sporting potential beyond its grand touring role.
Wallace reduced weight wherever possible and modified the car with wider wheels, flared arches, a more aggressive suspension setup, and engine tuning to extract additional performance from the 3.9-liter V12. The result was a far more focused and purposeful machine compared to the standard Jarama. Despite its name, it was not an official rally entry but more of a development special that showcased what the platform could become in a more competition-oriented form.
